When you know your are going to work on fashion non e-commerce site, you firstly think about the pictures. You want to dazzle people eyes with photos, videos everywhere. But actually who’s likely to come on this site ?
Press, buyers, bloggers usually come by to check again the collection they have seen : review the looks, share their favorites, get the details of the apparels. Always on the move (cars, plans) they doing it on their smartphone or tablet.
With non technical team, the PR department must update the site by itself. To ease their daily work, we redesigned the site knowing that everything were based on WordPress and must be responsive.
The site had some issues : an unclear menu, a background video which never load, products which did not putting forward enough. The client challenged us to reverse the balance. To make it, my team and I researched what’s done already, and gathered our findings.
Ungaro user flow
We’ve been lucky to get all the content required to work on : texts, photos, videos. We listed the pages, determined the elements that should be inside of each of them. Once everything was clear, the sketches sessions could begin.
Ungaro wireframe sketches
I always detail the wireframes, create a grid, putting the right content provided by the client. Sometimes, I insert a picture just to have an eye on the render, check how the image fits the body page. It helps us to move progressively, have a based for developers, UI designer.
